The terms that govern your use of the Reliable Bias Articulator. Written in plain language, consistent with the same transparency the tool asks of its users.
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Reliable Bias Articulator website, tools, and related services (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Reliable Bias Articulator ("we," "us," "our"). By creating an account, selecting a tier, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
The Service provides authorship transparency tools that allow users to articulate, describe, and disclose the involvement of artificial intelligence tools in their creative or academic writing process. The Service includes, depending on your tier, authorship analysis across multiple modes, a copyright similarity checker, a community organization directory, and related features.
The Service does not determine authenticity, originality, or academic integrity. It surfaces signals, generates confidence-rated observations, and provides a structured vocabulary for self-disclosure. Any decision about how to interpret, act upon, or weigh the Service's output rests entirely with you and, where applicable, your institution. The Service is not a substitute for institutional judgment, editorial review, or legal advice.
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent or guardian's permission to use the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You agree to provide accurate information when creating an account, including your name, email address, city, state, and optional phone number, and to keep that information current.
The Service is offered under multiple access tiers, each with its own pricing, included usage, and feature set, as described on the Service's pricing page at the time of your signup. By selecting a paid tier, you authorize us to charge the applicable subscription fee to your designated payment method on a recurring monthly basis through our payment processor, Stripe.
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with its intended function as a transparency and disclosure tool. You agree not to:
You retain all ownership rights in any work sample, text, or other content you submit to the Service ("Your Content"). We do not claim any ownership interest in Your Content.
Your Content is transmitted to Anthropic's API for processing and is not stored by the Service. Your Content is governed during that transmission by Anthropic's own privacy policy and usage terms, as described in our Privacy and Data Notice. You are solely responsible for ensuring you have the right to submit Your Content and for avoiding the submission of confidential, privileged, or highly sensitive material.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, OR NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE'S ANALYSIS, CONFIDENCE RATINGS, OR SIMILARITY DETECTION WILL BE ACCURATE, COMPLETE, OR SUITABLE FOR ANY PARTICULAR PURPOSE, INCLUDING ACADEMIC INTEGRITY PROCEEDINGS, CONTEST ADJUDICATION, OR LEGAL DISPUTES.
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUE, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE, INCLUDING ANY DECISION MADE BY YOU OR A THIRD PARTY IN RELIANCE ON THE SERVICE'S OUTPUT.
[Placeholder for counsel: confirm appropriate liability cap, e.g. fees paid in the preceding twelve months, and jurisdiction-specific enforceability of liability limitation language above.]
The Service, including its copyright similarity analysis, developmental recommendations, and disclosure framing suggestions, does not constitute legal advice, does not establish or disprove copyright infringement, and does not constitute a finding of academic misconduct. Institutions and individuals using the Service's output as part of a formal review, contest decision, or disciplinary process do so at their own discretion and assume full responsibility for that decision.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service if you violate these Terms, including the acceptable use provisions in Section 4. We will make reasonable efforts to notify you before termination except in cases of severe or repeated violations. You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us or using the account deletion option in your client portal, once available.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to the address associated with your account, or via a notice on the Service, at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
